A pair of men accused of trying to mail a package containing methamphetamine and oxycodone are the subjects of new warrants and felony bail jumping charges after each has effectively disappeared.

Scott Lee Davis, 38, of Kalispell, and Christopher Ferrari, 38, of Whitefish, both accumulated the new warrants and charges by not appearing for their pre-trial conference hearings on June 26.

The new charges would add 10 years to the maximum amount of time each man is facing if they are convicted.

Davis previously admitted violating the requirements of his sentences in three former cases spanning 12 years, testifying that he smoked marijuana, drove with an invalid driver’s license and was arrested for partner or family member assault.

He had already had his sentence for felony theft in a 1998 case revoked three times, with his sentence being reimposed in its entirety twice before he was sentenced to five years in prison and five years of probation the third time.

Over the following years he also was convicted of drug possession and criminal endangerment in two other cases.

Davis now faces between two years and life in prison and a fine of up to $50,000 if convicted of felony conspiracy in the criminal distribution of dangerous drugs in the drug-mailing case and a further 10 years if convicted of bail jumping as well as whatever sentence is imposed as a result of his three revocations.

Ferrari has pleaded not guilty to the same charge in the drug-mailing case, but he is also facing an additional sentence of between two and 10 years in prison and a fine of up to $100,000 in another case alleging Ferrari had hydrocodone and morphine as well as another 10 years in prison if convicted of bail jumping.

Davis was on house arrest at the time that he failed to appear in court, while Ferrari was out after posting bond.
